You’ve arrived#

Monday, 8 September 2025, 2 p.m. I stood at the gate with my boxes, which contained 140 acrylic paintings. The gallery owner and I carried the paintings to the exhibition venue. First, I laid the colourful square acrylic paintings on the tables and chairs so that they would be easier to choose from. Then the two art-loving interns arrived and were delighted – I could see it in their faces.

The gallery owner briefly introduced me as the artist and then left us to our own devices. I explained to the two interns what each acrylic painting was for and what could be done with it. That took quite a while, as there were 140 of them.

Looking back on March 2025#

I had looked at the room to see if it was suitable for me and how many acrylic paintings I could exhibit, and came up with a maximum of 50. So it will be somewhere between 25 and 50. At least, that’s the rough plan in my head for now.

Active participation 2/2#

First, it was said that there were definitely acrylic paintings that absolutely had to be exhibited. I then put these in a pile. The interns could pick out all the others.

They asked if they were really allowed to choose the acrylic paintings for the exhibition themselves. I said yes.

They praised me for ‘these beautiful colourful pictures’ and ‘it’s something different’. They also knew and recognised some apps, such as Bit AC, CApod, Cheogram, Kotatsu, Oeffi. And also because it’s beautifully drawn. One of them likes to read manga, which is why she chose Kotatsu, and said that others should read manga too. I think that’s great.

And then it was already 3 pm…#

…and unfortunately no time left to select more pictures. They had other tasks to attend to. That’s why there will be a second appointment for the remaining acrylic paintings.

I talked to the gallery owner for a while and then drove back home – happy and satisfied.

Thanks for now.
