It’s about https://keepandroidopen.org/ I had advertised F-Droid with most of the acrylic paintings. Unfortunately, this should no longer be possible from September 2026. What all this means is on this website.

If it really comes to that, I can no longer continue my acrylic project / art in the previous form. Artistically, I then have to switch from Android to Linux (Flathub App Logos), over the course of time I had painted 36 Flathub App logos so far.

But financially, I’d be throwing away 4k euros. Not the money. I don’t paint digital pictures, like with Gimp, Krita, etc. I paint every acrylic picture on canvas. Before I paint, I have to buy brushes, canvases and acrylic paints. Not to mention all the time it takes.

If it comes to that, I could imagine continuing ‘Mondstern Acrylic Icons’, which is still available on Android (but not for much longer), with Linux. However, I would then be starting from scratch. The whole situation frustrates me greatly.

If you don’t consider the financial aspect, something new emerges. That’s nice in itself. But when you think about everything, including the money, because everything costs something, I somehow get a stomach ache.

I don’t know what to do with the 1,200 acrylic paintings.

If Linux is the only option left, the following questions come to mind: How do you start a Linux project like this? Can you use Arcticons Linux or Papirus Icon theme as a basis?

Does anyone know anything about Flathub/Flatpak? Let’s see where and how the journey takes us.
